JD Project Takes Multiple Awards

Judah, Chris and Dave served tea shot samples today at the New Times 2010 Music Awards. As usual, we set up our tent and our Dragon display... but this time was different.

We were serving our new Super Natural green tea shots, and we felt a lot of love! People commented on how they loved the flavor and ingredients, and many on the way back remarked "I feel good!" We actually sold some cases on the spot.

A terrific band, JD Project adorned the San Luis Obispo Mission courtyard with their blues music and had us rockin'. Memorable and stylish under their own modest method, they played several great tunes, including the award-winning Freight Train. Watch it here:

Why Fruit Is So Good for You

Making the Strongest Green Tea

Here's a quick video clip of part of the manufacturing process-- one of the last steps, which is packing the finished bottles into 12-packs.

The process takes about 36 hours to complete, starting with brewing the green tea with as many leaves as we can get into the water and infusing the tea into purified water until it's a dark brown concentrate.

Then the fresh-brewed super-tea is pasteurized, mixed with fresh blueberry, purple grape, pomegranate, and acai berry juices.

The supershots are finally flash-pasteurized and aseptically bottled. (More about how the tea shots are brewed)

Nutritionist Warns Against Energy Drinks

Dragon Pearl's Tea Shots Featured as a Healthy Alternative

Nutritionist Aaron Snyder was featured on San Diego's Channel 6 yesterday. He discussed energy drinks and energy shots with reporter Marc Bailey, and talked about the effects of too much caffeine on the body, especially diabetics.

Aaron says that drinks like Monster, Red Bull and 5-Hour Energy are basically a rip-off that give you way more caffeine than needed to stimulate the body, and make you crave sweet and fatty foods.

He also discussed Dragon Pearl's Super Natural Tea Shots, saying that three cups of green tea is the ideal "lift" for the human body, providing the maximum dose of natural caffeine for humans.
